Deering Bay Golf Course Highlights

Residences at Deering Bay are surrounded by an Arnold Palmer 18 hole masterpiece, that often feels more like a nature preserve.  With a backdrop consisting of acres of mangroves, much wildlife calls Deering Bay’s golf course home, including a two hundred pound American crocodile called Snaggletooth.  Seperate Club membership is required to play here:  Applications are available at the Clubhouse and acceptance is at the discretion of the club.

Look up and you’ll see a variety of birds visiting from nearby Parrot Jungle.  Ahead there are egrets, ibises and beautiful roseate spoonbills.    And when you hit your ball into the water, (which you can do on each and every hole), look around and you’re sure to see a manatee or a school of snapper.   And on the shores, beware of those related to Snaggletooth.

Beyond this, the course offers many challenges.  There’s a 207 yard par 3 and short par 5 with water everywhere.  And typically, the wind is up and blowing.  Bring a few extra balls...  a success on this course is using less than 1 sleeve of balls!
